MAR 26, 2022 11 AM – 1 PM On Zoom
Sometimes, where we start includes what we want to write. Sometimes, we may not know. Sometimes, an incident we want to write about might hurt or incriminate others or ourselves. That may be cause to turn truth into fiction in order to write a compelling, fictional short story. Sometimes, we may best follow the old adage, “Truth is stranger than fiction,” and write an essay, giving what we know, have experienced, believed, etc. about some person, place or thing.
AND SOMETIMES, we want to write but not sure we have the time (or interest) to write a long story, a novel or nonfiction book. We can get our feet wet in these shorter versions. While doing so, you will be learning and putting into practice the same techniques that will flow from the essay or short story to longer works, if you so desire. Yes. We’ll be writing during the workshop so besides your computer, bring a notebook, pen/pencil along. You may find those helpful in some of what we do.
